After a couple of nights where the temperature had dropped below freezing, this afternoon was bright and sunny, hitting 60 degrees.  A breeze over the meadow carried with it countless cottony seeds.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_1249\" aria-labelledby=\"figcaption_attachment_1249\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 810px\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/sicloot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/01_meadow.jpg\" alt=\"Meadow at the Arboretum\" width=\"800\" height=\"537\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1249\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sicloot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/01_meadow.jpg 800w, http:\/\/sicloot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/01_meadow-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment_1249\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Meadow at the Arboretum<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Despite the freezes, swarms of midges hovered over the streams and flies rested on the bark of a silver maple.  I even saw a dragonfly madly hunting.<\/p>\n<p>We are past peak fall color.
